AFC WIMBLEDON AND OUR HISTORIC RETURN TO PLOUGH LANE
It was one of the greatest moments in the story of our proud club: 7.45pm, November 3, 2020. The moment we played our first game in our new stadium – the moment we were back in Wimbledon, back in Plough Lane, back in the community we had been torn away from 29 years earlier.
Our emotional return to our spiritual home completed a football miracle. Our fans had made an impossible dream come true and the only sadness was they couldn’t be there to witness such a momentous occasion. The Covid pandemic was still gripping the nation and supporters were prohibited from attending matches.
Mercifully, the vaccination programme of 2021 has helped us turn the corner and we can now all look forward to next season and sitting together, shoulder to shoulder, to roar on The Dons inside our new home. It will be the stuff of dreams, it will be historic – and it will be something you will not want to miss!
Unlike most football clubs, AFC Wimbledon is owned by the fans. The Dons Trust is the heart and soul of our club, a democratically-elected body that protects the sacred principle of fan ownership and guarantees the club continues to be run in the best interests of the people who own it – our supporters.
At present it has over 3,000 members around the world. Anyone can join so to find out more about this wonderful organisation, click here:
We’re not just a football club! Working within the community and helping to change people’s lives is something extremely close to our hearts. Our Foundation is at the epi-centre of everything we do within our surrounding boroughs, reaching out to the people who matter the most.
It works with local schools and housing estates, it runs inspirational holiday camps and delivers precious opportunities to young and old through a wide range of sports-based activities as well as education, employment, social inclusion and health and wellbeing programmes.

Another community success story we are extremely proud of. DLAG was born at the start of the Covid crisis, when a group of caring supporters started collecting and delivering food parcels to vulnerable people who were struggling to cope during the pandemic.
From a relatively humble beginning, they now have over 2,000 volunteers and have won three prestigious national awards for their incredible work. They didn’t stop at food parcels, either, and have successfully delivered over 1,450 laptops and digital devices so children can carry on with home schooling during the pandemic. They’ve even sourced and supplied furniture and appliances for families facing hardship.
